Questions, answered with care.

Read these before booking — most of what you need to know is here. If a question isn't covered, send a note and I'll write back.

— The Practice

On the practice itself.

A precise, low-impact movement practice. You work the whole body — core, hips, shoulders, breath — through a series of controlled exercises that build strength, mobility, and a quieter kind of fitness. Nothing flashy. Everything intentional.

A stronger middle and a longer spine come first. Better balance and coordination follow. Most people notice their back complaining less, their posture standing up taller, and an unexpected sense of focus that shows up off the mat too.

Yes — whether you are brand new to movement, returning after injury, training through pregnancy, or already strong. Pilates meets the body it has, not the body it wishes for. Pace and intensity are tailored every session.

Online: small group classes, private 1:1s, and duets for two. In-person: 1:1s and duets in your home across East London. Corporate programmes available on request.

Eight students, maximum. That is small enough to see every body and call out personalised corrections in real time. A class recording follows each session and stays available for seven days.

Stratford and the surrounding neighbourhoods — Bow, Plaistow, West Ham, Mill Meads, Maryland, Upton, Forest Gate, and nearby pockets of East London. Send your postcode if you are not sure and we will check.

— Health & Safety

Care for the whole body.

Often, yes. By strengthening the deep core and re-educating posture, Pilates can ease the chronic load that causes back pain. I came to this practice through my own recovery — back pain is something I take personally.

Almost always — but let us talk first. Book a free consultation so we can understand what is happening and design something safe and meaningful for your body. Class plans are adapted around your needs, not the other way round.

With the right modifications, yes. Prenatal sessions are private 1:1s tailored to each trimester. Always check with your midwife or GP before starting, and bring any guidance they share into our first conversation.

— Getting Started

Your first session.

A Beginner group class is the simplest entry. We move slowly through the foundational principles — breath, alignment, control — and build from there week by week. No experience expected. No pressure to be flexible.

Something fitted enough that I can see your alignment. Avoid baggy layers — they hide what we need to see. Bare feet or grip socks.

A mat, a small block (or thick book), a folded towel for under your head, and enough floor space to extend in all directions. There is a short setup video that walks you through it.

You will need Zoom installed and a laptop or tablet (not a phone — too small to see your form). Position the camera so your full mat is visible from the side, in landscape. The setup guide has a diagram.

Short guides to begin with.

Still wondering?

Whatever it is, you can ask. Send a quick message or book a free 20-minute consultation — there are no silly questions.

Words from the practice.

A few of the things clients have written. The full set lives on the Google profile.

Marietta has completely changed how my back feels. After two months of weekly classes I haven't needed my usual physio appointments. She watches every movement and corrects the smallest thing.

Sarah M. Google review

The online classes are genuinely the highlight of my week. Small groups, gentle corrections over Zoom, and a recording I can come back to. I've never enjoyed a workout this much.

James W. Google review

I came in nervous and unfit, and Marietta met me where I was without an ounce of judgement. Six months later I'm in the intermediate class and standing taller than I have in years.

Priya K. Google review

I booked Marietta to come to my home through both pregnancies. Her knowledge of safe modifications was outstanding, and she made me feel strong and capable when nothing else fit.

Aisha R. Google review

As a complete beginner I was anxious about joining. Marietta starts every class with breathing, explains every principle, and you genuinely feel looked after. It's the best £12 I spend each week.

Thomas H. Google review

Booked a duet session for me and my partner — Marietta tailored every exercise to our different bodies and goals. We left feeling longer, more aligned, and weirdly closer. Highly recommended.
